I create works out of ordinary objects, gathered directly from everyday life, whose meaning and value and our understanding of them I alter. My artistic practice attempts to lead us to see the things around us differently. The concept of recycling, in both the literal and figurative sense, is of primary importance. The banal realities I incorporate into my installations and performances are easily recognizable. What is startling is the new vocation I give to these semi-readymades. These interventions seek to alter our emotional memory of such extremely ordinary things in order to shake up our preconceived ideas.
